Notre Dame University-Louaize (NDU) is pleased to announce a fully funded Master’s degree opportunity for one exceptional student to join a multidisciplinary research project aimed at developing a sustainable, school-based feeding program for children in Lebanon.
The selected candidate will receive a Graduate Research Assistantship (GRA) covering full tuition for two years. As a GRA, the student will work 20 hours per week, engaging in fieldwork, data collection, research, and analysis, and contributing to the development of practical tools and strategies that support the long-term sustainability of school feeding programs nationwide.
Responsibilities
The GRA will play a central role in the project’s research design, data collection, and analysis, and will contribute to the development of practical materials (including manuals, checklists, and surveys) to strengthen and enhance the school feeding program.
Key responsibilities include:
- Conducting focus groups and interviews with key stakeholders (school staff, parents, ministries, and local partners).
- Administering student surveys.
- Collecting and analyzing data on program impact related to educational and health outcomes.
- Monitoring and evaluating program reach and effectiveness.
- Assisting in the development of practical tools to support program implementation and sustainability.
- Supporting the dissemination of findings through reports, presentations, and academic publications.
Qualifications
- Eligible for enrollment in the M.S. in Human Nutrition or M.S. in Food Safety and Quality Management programs.
- Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition, Food Science, or a related field.
- Strong interest in school health, nutrition, education policy, or program sustainability.
- Excellent research, analytical, and writing skills.
- Fluency in English and Arabic (written and spoken).
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with diverse stakeholders.
- Willingness to engage in fieldwork and interact with school communities (students, parents, staff).
- Ability to commute regularly to schools and partner sites in Mount Lebanon.
- Experience in quantitative and qualitative research is a plus.
- Prior experience working with NGOs or community organizations is an asset.
