Naji Abou Jawdeh

Taichi school reflects one of the core principles about which the martial arts career of Sifu Abou Jawdeh revolves. He is the founder of Back Yard Kwoon* (Texas), which was one of the leading Chinese martial arts self-defense kwoons, let alone, having been a lecturer, trainer, and trainee respectively. He earned his first black belt in 1976 and since then, he is a member in good standing at the International Black Belt Association.

Sifu Naji emphasizes that, contrarily to what is usually known, that Chinese martial arts are a defensive martial art that promotes peace.

In fact, Sifu Naji has adapted in all his teaching the four-kungfu nurturing elements: virtue, wisdom, health, and art.

He has also been, throughout the course of the past four decades, a military cold arms trainer (Lebanon), a member of the International Black Belt Association (IBBA), and a member of the Black Dragon Fighting Society (USA).

Naji completed a training with SiFu Xing Wong Kah (Malaysia). He studied Judo under Sansei Masanori Fukami and first generation disciples and studied KungFu under Sifu Jean Khoury (Lebanon), Sifu Jhon (Reed) Austin (London), and Sifu Dan Perkins (James Conally Campus Texas). Naji also studied Zhan Zhuang under Late professor Yu Yong Nian and his disciple Sifu Kan Lan Yin (London). He joined the Japense Karate Association (JKA) where he studied Karate under Sensei Okamoto.

*Kwoon is a place where people gather to teach or learn Chinese martial arts.
