Dear NDU Community,
November 10 marks a day of gratitude and pride for our entire community, as we celebrate the foundation of the Maronite Order of the Blessed Virgin Mary (OMM), established in 1695, the spiritual founders of Notre Dame University-Louaize.
From its very beginning, the Order carried a profound vision: to build, to prepare, and to uplift society through faith, education, and service. The desire to promote human dignity and to contribute to a better world was at the heart of its mission, and this same spirit continues to guide us today.
More than three centuries later, we at NDU remain inspired by that founding call. The same flame that once lit the hearts of our founders still burns within us, urging us to serve better, to love better, and to be better.
As we honor this legacy, we remember with gratitude all those who came before us, men and women who believed in the transforming power of faith and knowledge. Their dream has become our mission, and it is now our turn to carry it forward.
Let us, as one family, stand united in hope and purpose, supporting one another with faith, dedication, and creativity. Each of us contributes to the living mission of NDU: to form minds, touch hearts, and build a society grounded in truth, justice, and compassion. Together, we can make our University shine ever more brightly as a beacon of service and excellence.
Rooted in our past and inspired by our future, we entrust our journey to our Lord Jesus Christ, through the intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary, patroness of our University.
God bless each one of you,
Fr. Bechara Khoury, O.M.M.
NDU President
