Music Awareness Program
Addressed to children between 5 and 9 years old, offering music learning through touch, sound and thought, all in a safe, creative environment focused on hands-on learning through play. Mums and Dads are welcome to come along too.

Although talent blooms in its own unique, characteristic and valuable way in every phase of one’s life, an early start is the best entry to music. We provide our pupils and students with an introduction to lifelong learning. We welcome children from the age of five and give them the opportunity to develop and flourish their potential talent.

Children will gain a sense of independence by being a part of a small group of children where they will be able to receive personal attention and have their individuality acknowledged and honored, while being prepared for future instrumental instruction by learning to read music and try potential instruments in an active, fun and exciting environment.

Upon completion of this class, most students are ready to move forward into private instrumental lessons. To help with this transition, NDU-SOM staff reaches out to parents helping them navigate the next step for their child!
Artist Diploma Program

Study Cycles

NDU-SOM offers students a study program over three cycles: beginner, intermediate and advanced. The program offers the students plenty of opportunities to fully develop their personal strengths and qualities such as craftsmanship, knowledge of the repertoire and artistic vision. Curricula overviews, program objectives, course descriptions and assessment criteria are published in the program's brochures. Courses split into four categories:

Principal Subject
One-to-one learning in the major subject.

Music Formation
Group lessons covering general knowledge, aural skills, and theoretical formation courses.

Ensemble Performance
Forging group music-making skills through chamber music and accompaniment, student orchestra and choir.

Electives
An extensive list of elective courses is available to the students who want to develop additional qualities and explore new areas in the course of their study.

Artist Diploma

Once the three cycles of study completed, the student is eligible of an Artist Diploma, after successfully passing the public final recital or performance.
À La Carte Education
Instead of enrolling a standard degree program (leading to the Artist Diploma), students can follow a custom music education scheme, by choosing a selection of the offered subjects, tailored to their specific needs.
