Program Description

The Master of Business Administration program provides students, who have distinct academic ability, with advanced business and management skills. It also targets practicing managers who aim to develop their capabilities and access to higher positions in their chosen careers. Although the program is designed as a terminal degree program, graduates are well prepared to pursue higher degrees in business and economics. Consistent with the Faculty mission, the MBA program at NDU aims at providing aspiring candidates, of various professional and educational backgrounds, with a set of theoretical knowledge and technical skills allowing them to make informed business decisions in a socially responsible manner. The program equips them with the competencies necessary to advance in their careers or pursue further education, as well as being active players in local, regional and international markets.

Accreditation

The Faculty of Business Administration and Economics (FBAE) is an accredited member of AACSB International—The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business. AACSB accreditation is known, worldwide, as the longest-standing, most recognized form of specialized accreditation that an institution and its business programs can earn. Accreditation is a voluntary, nongovernmental process that includes a rigorous external review of a school's mission, faculty qualifications, curricula, and ability to provide the highest-quality programs.

Admission Procedures and Requirements

To apply for the MBA program, in addition to meeting the general university admission requirements, applicants must submit the following documents:

A completed application form
Two recent passport-sized photographs
Official university transcripts from the institution of origin, with a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.7 or equivalent
Two recommendation letters (at least one from a former professor)
A detailed Curriculum Vitae (CV)
Employment letters specifying current position and years of service

For applicants from institutions where English is not the primary language of instruction, a minimum score of 60 on the English Entrance Test (EET) is required.

Eligibility for Admission

A composite score, based on weighted criteria, will be used to assess the eligibility of graduate applicants. Applicants to the MBA program may be:

Admitted
Admitted on probation, requiring students to achieve a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0/4.0 after completing 12 credits of graduate courses.

Applicants without a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or Economics may be required to complete up to 18 credits of remedial courses. A minimum cumulative GPA of 2.7 must be achieved in these courses. Please note that the grades for these remedial courses will not be included in the overall GPA.

Graduation Requirements

A student, guided by his advisor, can opt for an emphasis area in Project Management or he or she can opt for a General MBA.

Major Core Courses (24cr.)

There are eight major core courses that equip students with a solid base in the MBA program. These courses are:

Support Core Courses (3cr.)

The one support core courses is designed to equip students with numeracy and applied research skills. The course is:

3 BUS 669 Business Research Design and Methods

One Graduate Applied Project (3cr.)

MBA candidates will complete 12 taught courses (36 credits) in addition to a Graduate Applied Project that is equivalent to 3 credits. The students should check with the Graduate Division for the required steps to be followed.
