The Department of Interior Design in the Ramez G. Chagoury Faculty of Architecture, Arts and Design (RC-FAAD) at Notre Dame University-Louaize (NDU) participated during summer in a “Woodworking Design Workshop 2018,” which was organized by Architect Antoine Lahoud in the Douaihy Pour Le Bois showroom in Zouk Mikael.
During the workshop, students, representing the Notre Dame University (NDU), the Lebanese American University (LAU), the Holy Spirit University of Kaslik (USEK), and the Lebanese University, were required to design a unique wood bench (specific to the layout of their campus).
Under the supervision of FAAD faculty member at NDU Rina Shebaby, the NDU team comprised of five students: Joe Fahed, Stephani Kewerkian, Elio Geagea, Rasha Moawad, and Elias Hitti.
The creative achievements were displayed during the closing ceremony in the showroom in the presence of political figures and renowned architects and designers.
The Douaihy Pour Le Bois administration invited all students who participated in the workshop to embark on an enriching and educational journey through a four-day trip to Austria to discover the EGGER industry headquarters, which produces wood-based panel products in 17 production sites across Europe.
