The third edition of the flagship ACTEA conference of the Faculty of Engineering at NDU was held from July 13 to July 15, 2016 at the Main Campus in Zouk-Mosbeh, Lebanon. The conference is technically sponsored by IEEE and its proceedings are hosted and distributed worldwide by IEEE through their IEEE Xplore platform.
For the first time, ACTEA’16 was organized as a joint event with the sister international conference on Renewable Energy for Developing Countries (REDEC’16), also technically sponsored by IEEE and organized, on regular basis, by a group of Lebanese institutions including NDU.
The scientific program of the joint ACTEA’16/REDEC’16 conference involved three parallel tracks over two days and a half including a rich track of six keynote speeches by distinguished international experts. Around 50 ACTEA presentations of the highest quality and a similar number of REDEC presentations were delivered to an audience of around 200 attendees from all over the world.
The ACTEA papers were selected following a solid reviewing process of full manuscripts involving two to four reviewers per paper. The acceptance rate for this edition was 59%. Contributions to ACTEA’16 were received from 21 different countries and represented a large number of academic institutions and industrial partners worldwide.
The scientific program of the joint event was complemented by a rich social program which gave attendees the opportunity to explore a number of very interesting natural and historical sites in the region as well as to taste the local and world widely known culinary art.
