Building on the success of last year’s workshop—and in response to participants’ strong recommendation for a follow-up session focused on social media business management—the Faculty of Business Administration and Economics (FBAE) at Notre Dame University-Louaize’s North Lebanon Campus (NLC) hosted a second workshop on Thursday, March 6, 2025. The session aimed to empower rural women entrepreneurs through practical training in digital marketing.
Developed directly in response to feedback from the previous year, the workshop addressed the growing interest among participants in leveraging social media to better manage and expand their businesses. This initiative reflects FBAE’s ongoing commitment to community engagement and poverty alleviation by equipping women with the entrepreneurial skills needed for sustainable growth.
Led by Dr. Dorine Mattar, the workshop built upon foundational strategies introduced during the first session. Participants displayed an impressive ability to recall and apply previously learned concepts, showcasing their dedication and growing confidence in digital tools. Dr. Mattar’s return ensured continuity, bridging the gap between theoretical principles and today’s dynamic digital applications.
Adding a fresh and youthful perspective, FBAE’s 2024 Valedictorian, Christy Arida, supported the session by sharing real-world insights on building a compelling online presence. Her guidance simplified complex ideas and deepened participants’ understanding, making the session both accessible and actionable.
A key highlight of the day was the hands-on training segment, during which participants actively created content for their business social media pages. This practical application of knowledge significantly boosted engagement and provided immediate, tangible tools for improving digital outreach. A touching moment occurred when one participant offered Dr. Mattar two jars of homemade jam—a heartfelt token of appreciation reflecting the program’s meaningful personal and professional impact.
The workshop concluded with the distribution of certificates of attendance, marking another milestone in the entrepreneurial journeys of the participants. The overwhelmingly positive feedback reaffirmed the importance of such initiatives in promoting digital transformation and empowering local communities.
FBAE remains steadfast in its commitment to organizing future initiatives that foster inclusive growth and support rural women entrepreneurs as agents of innovation and change in Lebanon.
