Building on last year's successful workshop and the strong recommendation from participants for a follow-up session focusing on social media business management, the Faculty of Business Administration and Economics (FBAE) at Notre Dame University-Louaize’s North Lebanon Campus (NLC) organized a second workshop on Thursday, March 6, 2025, aimed at empowering rural women entrepreneurs through practical digital marketing training.
This session was developed in direct response to participants’ feedback from the previous year, where many expressed a strong interest in learning how to better manage and grow their businesses using social media. The workshop reflects FBAE’s continued commitment to community engagement and poverty alleviation in the region by equipping women with entrepreneurial tools for sustainable success.
Led by Dr. Dorine Mattar, the workshop built upon the foundational strategies discussed last year. Participants showed a remarkable ability to recall and apply previously learned concepts, demonstrating their dedication and growing confidence in digital tools. Dr. Mattar’s return helped bridge the gap between foundational principles and today’s digital applications, reinforcing the importance of continuity in community learning.
Adding a fresh perspective, FBAE’s 2024 Valedictorian Christy Arida provided valuable support throughout the session, offering real-world insights into building a strong online presence. Her guidance simplified key concepts and enriched participants’ understanding, making the session both educational and applicable.
One of the highlights of the day was the hands-on training, where participants actively created content for their business social media pages. This direct application of theory into practice enhanced engagement and gave attendees practical tools to immediately improve their digital outreach. A touching moment came when one participant offered Dr. Mattar two jars of homemade jam—a symbolic gesture of gratitude that spoke volumes about the personal and professional impact of the program.
The workshop concluded with the distribution of certificates of attendance, marking another milestone in the participants’ entrepreneurial journeys. The overwhelmingly positive feedback reaffirmed the significance of such initiatives in promoting digital transformation and empowering local communities.
The FBAE remains committed to organizing future activities that foster inclusive growth and support rural women entrepreneurs as agents of change and innovation in Lebanon.
