NDUIFF AT ERASMUS+ SEMINAR

November 27, 2018 – Dr. Nicolas Khabbaz, Director of the Division of Audio Visual Arts (DAVA) at the University of Notre Dame-Louaize (NDU), gave a presentation at the Erasmus+ Higher Education Reform Experts (HERE) Seminar on “The Skills Needed For The Twenty First Century And Their Impact On Teaching And Learning In Higher Education.”

Erasmus+ is a new EU initiative which aims to modernize education, training and youth work, which is working in partnership with Lebanese Higher Education Institutions and stakeholders to help achieve solid higher educational reforms in the country.

The seminar was designed to tackle the following skills required for success in the twenty first century, the details of which can be found on the Erasmus+ website (http://erasmusplus-lebanon.org/event/2398):

  • Social intelligence
  • Novel & adaptive thinking
  • Cross-cultural competency
  • Computational thinking

Dr. Nicola Khabbaz brought his expertise on youth empowerment to a panel which discussed good practices for mutualization and networking . He presented the NDU International Film Festival’s (NDUIFF) growth over the years as a case study of fieldwork implementation of the aforementioned skills, as one of its main goals is to “make the film-making learning process as dynamic as the craft itself.”
