The Department of English and Translation at the Faculty of Humanities (FH), NDU, is proud to announce that NDU student Sawsan Wehbe won the first prize in the “National Public Speaking Competition,” which took place on Saturday, January 14, 2017.
Addressing the theme, “Peace is Not the Absence of War,” Wehbe, a Biology major at the Faculty of Natural and Applied Sciences (FNAS),NDU Shouf Campus (SC), distinguished herself to earn first place from among 17 contestants representing leading universities in Lebanon.
The event, hosted by the Lebanese-American University (LAU) under the motto, “Global Understanding Through English,” is an initiative of the Lebanon branch of the English-Speaking Union (ESU).
As winner, Wehbe will travel to London to explore the city’s rich cultural and architectural heritage.
