For the third consecutive year, Notre Dame University-Shouf Campus supported the Al Jabal Marathon which was held on Sunday, April 30, 2017. Under the slogan, ‘We Run for Lebanon,” the Al Jabal Marathon gathered over 6,000 participants from all over the country.
As in the years before, the NDU-SC team was ready!
Preparations for the marathon participation had been underway – the staff, faculty and students gathered from the early hours of the morning to join the runners at the start line in the village of Kfarnabrakh. With their NDU shirts, the NDU team ran all the way to the finish line in Deir El-Kamar, home of NDU-Shouf Campus. Along the way, NDUers cheered the team and the other participants- and from the NDU stand, Mr. Ayman Bou Hamdan, Admissions Assistant and NDUers distributed Sohat water as the Nestle company had generously agreed to support the NDU team and the other participating teams.
Father Hanna Tayar, Director of NDU-Shouf Campus, was waiting for the NDU-Shouf Campus team at the finish line. “Running for Lebanon – a true cause that NDU-SC supports,” Father Tayar commented. “NDU-SC shares the Al Jabal Marathon vision and is dedicated to the service, development and well-being of Lebanon.”
The award distribution ceremony marked the end of the marathon - Religious dignitaries, political and social figures, municipality leaders and of course NDU representatives were present to celebrate the winners and the marathon participants.
