Notre Dame University-Louaize (NDU) and Webedia Arabia Group, a leading digital media company in the Arab World, have entered into an agreement that serves students and alumni as of this Spring 2021 semester. The company has pledged not only to provide scholarships for students, but to open internships and job opportunities to students and alumni in Lebanon and the Arab world and to explore potential collaborations with the different faculties at the University.
"With this partnership, NDU sees an opportunity to explore fruitful collaborations with the private sector by developing mutually beneficial ventures," said NDU President, Fr. Pierre Najem. "We are happy to launch the Webedia Arabia Group Scholarship that will also open to our students and alumni opportunities to join the workforce of Webedia Arabia."
George Maktabi, CEO of Webedia Arabia Group echoed Fr. Najem’s views, saying:
"Today, as the digital media ecosystem advances and gets more sophisticated, we are required to nurture and grow talents in marketing, technology, product development, video production, content creation, data analysis... only to name a few. As NDU is a pioneer since the mid-nineties in communication, graphic design, digital marketing and publishing, we believe our partnership is a great step on the right direction"
The new scholarships will cover majors like the BA in Advertising and Marketing, the BS in Computer Sciences-Computer Graphics and Animation, and the BS in Computer Sciences-Business Computing among others.
