Reflecting one of Notre Dame University-Louaize’s (NDU) core values—“to seek the truth with a sense of discovery”—the Department of Media Studies at the Faculty of Humanities organized a series of field visits for journalism students. During these visits, the students engaged with the Ministry of Information, the Ministry of Youth and Sports, the National News Agency (NNA), and Radio Liban. Accompanied by Dr. Joseph Hosni, Chairperson of the Department, they conducted professional interviews and explored pressing topics, including media law and ethics.
Meeting the Minister of Youth and Sports — October 31, 2025
Students Francisca Moussa and Maria Skaff joined peers from several Lebanese universities for a meeting with H.E. Dr. Nora Bayrakdarian, Minister of Youth and Sports. The discussion focused on the Ministry’s future direction and the role of students in supporting its initiatives. Moussa and Skaff shared their ideas and perspectives, demonstrating enthusiasm to assist the Ministry as it launches new programs that empower youth, reflecting the Minister's commitment to collaboration with young professionals.
Saray Dialogues with the Minister of Defense — November 4, 2025
Five journalism students participated in a special episode of Saray Dialogues with Minister of Defense H.E. Michel Menassa, where they asked insightful questions live on Tele Liban. The podcast provided a valuable opportunity for hands-on learning, engagement, and real-world media experience for future journalists.
Meeting the Minister of Information and Visiting Media Agencies — November 13, 2025
Journalism students from both the Main and North Lebanon campuses, accompanied by instructor Dina Chaiban, visited the Ministry of Information, a long-standing partner of NDU. They met H.E. Paul Morcos, Minister of Information, and engaged in discussions about the new media law, journalists’ safety, and professional ethics.
The group also visited the National News Agency and Radio Liban. At Radio Liban, they took part in a live interview on the program Sabahoukom Ward with Randa Karanouh, sharing their passion for journalism and discussing NDU’s journalism program. Additionally, the students met with Ziad Harfouche, Director of the NNA, and Hassan Falha, General Director of the Ministry of Information, gaining valuable insight into the roles of each institution. A tour with Rita Noujaim El Roumi, Program Director at Radio Liban, allowed students to explore the workflow behind the scenes and understand the processes driving news production and broadcasting in Lebanon.
These visits enabled students to engage deeply with the media landscape, enhance intellectual inquiry, access critical information for career development, and strengthen their dedication to the field, refining their understanding of journalism in practice.
