NDU HOSTS HULT PRIZE CALL TO ACTION 2022

The Faculty of Business Administration and Economics (FBAE) at Notre Dame University-Louaize (NDU) Main Campus hosted this year’s Hult Prize Foundation Call to Action Competition on March 7, 2022. The theme of the 2022 Call to Action is “Getting the World Back to Work,” an initiative responding to the mass unemployment rate caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, a topic close to the heart of Lebanon given the present economic situation.

At NDU, students from various faculties across campus joined in teams of 3 to 4 members. The Call to Action was managed by FBAE Assistant Professor, Dr. Marguerite Eid, FBAE Associate Professor, Dr. Esther Sleilati, and Hult Prize Campus Director, student Imad Salha.

In the first phase of the competition, the organizing committee directed the students in an ideation session and a pitching workshop. Dr. Maral Boyadjian then gave a workshop in self-confidence, and Dr. Dany Azzi led the students in a workshop aimed at enhancing their technical presentation skills.

The following phase saw each team presenting their projects to a panel of distinguished judges, namely:

  • Wissam El Beaino, CEO and Owner of Furn Beaino.
  • Rodina Khoury, Head of Marketing at App4Legal.
  • Rudy Shoushany, Founder of DxTalks and Transformation Strategy Consultant.

Three winners were announced, with first place going to “Fusion,” comprising Anthony Nassour, Marilyn Nassour, Ruby Sleilati, and Christopher Assily! In second place came “Eeminner,” led by Elio Khoury, Adriel Youness, and Karim Harb. The third winning team, “Metaducation,” included Joseph Al Hage, Edmond Ghobril, Artimos Khoury, and Jason Slim.

“Fusion,” as first place winner, will move on to compete in the Hult Prize Call to Action regional competition. Congratulations to all the winning teams, and thank you to the organizers of the event and renowned jury for their participation and continued support.
