Notre Dame University-Louaize (NDU) Alumni in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) organized, Friday, May 27, 2016 in collaboration with the Alumni Affairs Office at NDU, their annual dinner at Al- Boustan Restaurant, Rotana. The dinner was hosted by former Miss Lebanon and NDU Alumna Nicole Bardawil.
Alumni interacted with NDU President Fr. Walid Moussa, NDU Vice-President for Public Affairs and Communications Mr. Suheil Matar, and NDU Alumni Affairs Office Coordinator Mrs. Joyce Ghossain.
With more than 500 students and guests in attendance, the annual dinner served two purposes: First, it acted as a fundraising event to bolster the NDU Financial Aid Fund, which helps NDU students, and second, two members the NDU Board of Trustees (BOT) were honored: Former Minister Ziad Baroud and Joseph Ghsoub.
Fr. Moussa delivered a speech in which he expressed his pride in the University and in the achievements of its Alumni…. “Because you have contributed in deeds not words in developing your host country, you have brightened the image of Lebanon despite those darkening its image by speaking of our country as an insolvent state plagued by violence and terrorism."
Famous Lebanese singer Najwa Karam provided the evening’s entertainment.
