FOOD SAFETY PHOTO COMPETITION — EVERYONE CAN PARTICIPATE!

On the occasion of World Food Safety Day 2021, the Faculty of Nursing and Health Sciences (FNHS), is launching a photo competition whereby any person can participate because “Food Safety is Everyone’s Business.”

Participants (any person interested without having to be a food safety expert) are encouraged to select or create a visual (photograph, drawing, poster, collage etc.) that highlights the theme about how every person should be involved in food safety and send it by email to communications@ndu.edu.lb by June 17, 2021.

Faculty members at FNHS will be reviewing the visuals and will select three winners who will receive the following:

  • Food Safety Hero Certificate
  • Pictures and names of the winners will be shared on NDU social media platforms
  • Three vouchers of 50$ each will be offered by MENA Food Safety Associates (MEFOSA). Winners can benefit by either getting food safety tools (food thermometer, sanitizer, test strips for water etc.) or training
  • Three vouchers from Boecker that include a 25 % discount on any offered training and three free hygiene kits

World Food Safety Day (WFSD) is celebrated on June 7, 2021 and aims at raising awareness and taking action regarding the prevention, detection, and management of foodborne risks, which in turn would contribute to human health and sustainable development.

For this year, NDU has adopted the theme “Food Safety is Everyone’s Business” to highlight that food safety is a shared responsibility, and everyone has a role to play, from governments, industries, producers to business operators, universities, schools and consumers.

Food safety cannot be achieved without the joint effort of all parties today for a healthy tomorrow.
