On April 23, 2025, the Faculty of Nursing and Health Sciences (FNHS) at Notre Dame University-Louaize, North Lebanon Campus (NLC), opened its doors to over 100 high school students from across the northern region for a hands-on educational experience that celebrated science, leadership, and opportunity.
The action-packed day began with a welcoming reception and orientation, where students were introduced to the campus. A guided tour followed, featuring interactive activities prepared by the FNHS, including expert-led demonstrations in food science and food safety, experiments in the medical lab, and engaging competitions centered on nutrition. These activities were designed to introduce participants to the dynamic world of health sciences in an enjoyable, immersive format.
Following a campus breakfast, students gathered for the highly anticipated Project Management Institute (PMI) workshop held in collaboration with INJAZ Lebanon. Led by facilitators Ms. Fatate Shlaylat and Mr. Fayssal Maaliki, the session introduced students to the fundamentals of project planning, leadership, and teamwork, key skills applicable across academic and professional domains.
Adding further depth to the day, attendees had the opportunity to hear from Miss Youmna Iskandarani, President of the Lebanese Association of Food Scientists and Technologists (LAFST), who shed light on the evolving food science industry and potential career paths in the field. Her talk served as an inspiring invitation for students to consider future studies in health sciences and related disciplines.
As the event drew to a close, participating students were awarded certificates in recognition of their engagement and enthusiasm. The day ended on an especially celebratory note with a scholarship draw, awarding three lucky students a 20% tuition discount applicable to any NDU program:
