The Department of Design, Faculty of Architecture Art and Design at Notre Dame University – Louaize (NDU - Main Campus) is organizing a Workshop titled: “Photography Now: How to express yourself through photography” to be held on Saturdays December 3 and December 10, 2016 from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. in the Photography Studio of the FAAD at NDU.
Photography Now: How to express yourself through photography is a two three hours Photography workshop during which students will learn to understand concept development, lighting techniques, composition rules and post processing to name a few. Participants should have an interest in majoring in Photography, communicating through visuals, lighting, emotions and aesthetics.
The aim of the workshop is to introduce to the young generation a new way of experiencing the world through art and the medium of photography.
The workshop will be held over a period of two Saturdays, were on the first session they will have an introduction to a brief history of photography, composition rules, camera controls and lighting techniques. The students will have the chance to try what was presented in class during the week. The next session will be focused on how to develop a concept, edit their photographs and how to present them for an exhibition or a photography competition.
A competition (in February 2017) will be announced at the end of the workshop and will be exclusively for the participants.
An exhibition for the students' work will take place during the open doors.
NDU organizes a ceremony (March 2017) and offers certificates to all participants, a trophy to the first winner and, $1000 as 1st prize, $750 2nd prize, $500 3rd prize.
