Location: Main Campus, Zouk Mosbeh
Time: 8:30 a.m. till 4:00 p.m.

The Department of Management & Marketing (DMM) at the Faculty of Business Administration & Economics (FBAE) at Notre Dame University – Louaize (NDU) is proud to launch the second Young Entrepreneur Showdown (YES-NDU), targeted at students who are currently enrolled in grades 10, 11 & 12.

The Young Entrepreneur Showdown (YES-NDU) is an entrepreneurial event that aims at acquainting young people with the realities of the business world by helping them build their managerial skills, unleash their creativity, and discover ways to tackle opportunities in small and medium-sized enterprises.

Contestants who register for the competition attend a one-day seminar/workshop presented by faculty members at NDU. The seminar will introduce the students to the requirements of the competition and will cover the different disciplines that are essential for the completion of the business plan.

School students would be divided into small teams and would be required to identify an opportunity in the market; come up with solutions, and develop a business plan to start a company. They will then have to pitch their idea in front of a panel of jury.

During the seminar/workshop, students will be divided into groups in order to work on a mock business plan that would train them to tackle the challenges of crafting a professional business plan.

Students will learn real world business practices such as leadership development, team building, financial management, communication, and business etiquette.

NDU will offer the following prizes:
5 students winning the 1st prize: 100% scholarship for the first semester;
5 students winning the 2nd prize: 75% scholarship for the first semester;
5 students winning the 3rd prize: 50% scholarship for the first semester.

The calendar of the event is as follows:
Registration Deadline: December 9th,  2016;
Seminar/Workshop: December 17th, 2016;
Deadline Project Submission: January 14th, 2017 at Midnight;
Project Presentations: January 21st, 2017.

Please note that students who participated and won in the first YES-NDU that took place on May 7th, 2016 will not be allowed to compete in this year’s showdown in order to allow new participants to benefit from this experience.
