The Institute of Lebanese Thought at Notre Dame Univeristy-Louaize (NDU) in cooperation with the Center for Arabic and Middle-Eastern Studies at the American University of Beirut (AUB) has the pleasure of inviting you to the closing ceremony of the Personality of the Year: Anis Freiha on Thursday, April 11, 2019, at 10:30 a.m. in Issam Fares Hall NDU - Main Campus.

Visit of the Anis Freiha exhibition that showcases works and drawings by students of the Arabic Dept., the Technical Drawing 1 - 226 ARP, and the Architectural Sketching and Rendering - 221 ARP (Issam Fares - External Hall)

Reading from Feiha’s book “Isma3 Ya Rida” (Hear me Rida) by student Simon Amin AR306

Composition for Oud inspired by the writings of Anis Freiha performed by Walid Bou Serhal, with a backdrop of traditional Lebanese houses prepared by the students of architecture instructor Layla Jabbour’s cross-disciplinary class Cultural Themes in Lebanese Architecture – 215 LAC ARP

11:55 a.m.
A short play titled, “Satabka fil Wijdan” (You Will Remain in My Heart), inspired by the writings of Anis Freiha, performed by the AR310 students

12:15 p.m.
Readings from Freiha’s book, “Sawaneh min Taht Shajarat al-Kharrub” (Stories from Beneath the Carob Tree), by student Pamela Bteich, AR212

Fairuz songs performed by student Romy Nader, Musicology class, with backdrop of traditional Lebanese houses, prepared by students of Layla Jabbour’s, Architecture Instructor
