The Department of Physics and Astronomy at the Faculty of Natural and Applied Sciences, in collaboration with the Lifelong Learning Center (LLC) at Notre Dame University-Louaize (NDU), invites all Grades 5 to 8 students to an exciting visit to the Farid and Moussa Raphael Observatory. The event, titled "Between NDU and the Moon," will provide students with an engaging, hands-on experience for three hours.
During the visit, students will have the opportunity to participate in several exciting activities, each lasting approximately 50 minutes. The capacity for each activity is 25 students, with a maximum of 75 students per visit, allowing them to be divided into three groups to participate in parallel tracks. The event is open throughout the 2025 academic year. Schools or individuals interested in scheduling a visit can fill out the application form, and an NDU representative will contact them with available dates.

Activities:
Each student will participate in three activities chosen from the following options:
- Designing a crew module
- Assessing the structural integrity of a space module
- Exploring the Moon
- Modeling and measuring aspects that affect the appearance of impact craters
- Making a straw rocket
- Constructing a scale model of the solar system using beads and string
- Predicting the scale of our solar system and the distances between planets
Visit Includes:
- A tour of the observatory
- Sun observations using a telescope equipped with a solar filter
