ROAD SAFETY AWARENESS DAY AT NDU NLC

February 19, 2019 – The Student Union at Notre Dame University-Louaize, North Lebanon Campus (NDU-NLC) in collaboration with the Georges Nassim Khoriaty Foundation (GNK) organized a seminar to raise awareness about Road Safety, including the use of seat belts, and driver eligibility (age, fitness, sleepiness, psychological readiness) among others. Prominent attendees comprised the NDU Alumni Affairs at NLC, press, faculty, staff, and students.

GNK Academic and PR Coordinator, Amanda Akkawi spoke about what constitutes safe driving. She discussed the golden rules of traffic safety both in Lebanon and the wider world, and the dangers of driving under the influence of alcohol.

Media Coordinators at GNK, Jenevieve Hbayter and Melissa Roukoz then presented a series of traffic safety reports which highlighted the risk of accidents while driving, the effectiveness of seatbelts, prevention measures in the event of a crash, vehicle blind spots, children's rear seat, and the dangers of alcohol and drug use while driving.
