The Department of Hospitality and Tourism Management (DHTM) at the Faculty of Business Administration and Economics (FBAE), Notre Dame University-Louaize (NDU), organized on Friday, December 16, 2016, its 13th annual gala dinner themed, “Once Upon A Russia.” FBM351 students enrolled in Food, Beverage and Labor Cost Control organized and executed the event in its entirety.
The 300 invited guests included NDU President Fr. Walid Moussa, H.E. Consul of Russia to Lebanon Usup Abakarov, Director of the Russian Cultural Center Hayrat Ahmetov, NDU vice-presidents, the FBAE dean, administrators, faculty, and students as well as sponsors and family and friends.
Guests were treated to a red carpet entrance; fabulous ornaments reminiscent of the Russian culture, such as Russian dolls (matryoshka); a Russian wood-log photo booth; and traditional Russian costumes. Dinner was a Russian-based 5-course set-menu with open bar; a five-act entertainment program: a violinist, a piano and violin duo, and three traditional Russian folk dances.
The evening ended with a raffle draw, offering numerous gifts including an air ticket to Russia. Guests also received farewell gifts to leave an indelible imprint in their memories of this enjoyable gala; the gifts were: a CD containing nostalgic Russian songs, a crystal shot with a premium vodka mini-bottle, a matryoshka key holder, and a printed photo.
