Notre Dame University-Louaize (NDU) partook in the “Saida Festival Kiosk Design Competition,” and emerged victorious.
The National Committee of Sidon International Festival announced the competition, organized in collaboration with the Ramez G. Chagoury Faculty of Architecture, Arts and Design (FAAD) at NDU Shouf Campus (SC), to give students the opportunity to support innovative architectural designs.
This competition was made known across all three NDU campuses, encouraging three teams to submit their designs. A jury of city representatives and committee members of the Sidon International Festival met in the SC to select the winning design, which was recently adopted and implemented at the Festival.
The winning team was composed of Basel Fatayri, Houssam Younes, Hilal Bou Hamdan, Raed Nemer, and Raweya Dakdouk, who were invited not only to attend the Festival as guests of honor but also to be present during the construction phase to witness their designs come to life. Their names were also displayed on a plaque next to the kiosks in recognition of their efforts.
The trend of NDU students leaving their mark in national competitions clearly indicates the sheer number of exceedingly talented and intelligent students the University has across its three campuses. Backed by NDU’s high-quality education, students have learned how to harness and direct their innovation, energy, and vision. The University is proud of every single one of them!
