NDU FBAE HOSTS OWNER OF CORECHANGE FOR TALK ON PERSONALITY ANALYSIS

January 21, 2019 – The Accounting and Finance Club at the Faculty of Business Administration & Economics (FBAE) at Notre Dame University-Louaize (NDU) held a seminar hosted by Roula Saba Mouhanna, owner and manager of CoreCange, an international career, executive and life coaching firm based in Lebanon.

Saba provided an overview of breaking down personality across two axes, Direct vs Indirect Communication and People vs Task focused. Using these metrics, Saba extrapolated four personality types and assessed the behavioral style and characteristics of each one: Dominant, Expressive, Analytical and Amicable. She had her audience take an informal test to see where they fit on the spectrum, and discussed some of the best practices with regards to where to place and how to interact with the various personality types in the workplace.

Saba used the personality types as a jumping off point to discuss different methods of communicating with people. According to her, each personality type has preferred approaches particular to it – for example, Expressive people are less likely to be interested in detail and will get bored quickly – and effective communicators should tailor their language accordingly. She also made a note of the different pitfalls that might occur when two personalities of the same type interact, and suggested methods for mitigating them.

This event is part of NDU’s continued efforts to ensure our students are well prepared for future career prospects.
