The Department of Music at the Faculty of Architecture, Art and Design at Notre Dame University (NDU) is organizing an “Inter-School Piano Competition” for all schools in Lebanon. A rank of celebrity acclaimed professionals will form the panel of the jury for the competition.
This competition is the 4th music competition launched by NDU. The last competition was on the 1th and 16th of May 2016.
The event provides a unified platform to support the educational efforts being extended by NDU for the youth, to encourage young and emerging talents and to create public awareness of the importance of music as a science.
NDU offers a Bachelor and a Master of Music. Its structure and facilities are considered among the best in Lebanon. The students are performing in international music settings. Its American curriculum guarantees high academic standards. Its programs are designed to help students develop competence and expertise in the area of music and media, music casting, Jazz, history, theory and analysis. In addition, students acquire professional skills in voice and musical instruments.
This competition is targeting intermediary and advanced piano students’ level 5 to 10, from various secondary schools and music schools in Lebanon. They will receive an imposed music to prepare in a one week period of time, and will have to perform another set of 2 music works for each of the two rounds.
A Master Class given by Maestro Patrick Fayad will enable the students to enhance their performance.
