April 5-7, 2019 – Students from the Notre Dame University-Louaize Model United Nations (NDU MUN) team won eight awards, including the Best Delegation Award at this year’s Beirut International Model United Nations (BeyMUN) conference.
The BeyMUN conference is held annually at the American University of Beirut which gives its prospective delegates a chance to engage in high-level debates tackling pressing and relevant topics. This year’s offering saw over 150 delegates from all over the world, who came together to discuss the theme of “Take Action, Initiate Change.”
Delegates from the NDU MUN won the following awards on the various councils:
Disarmament and International Security Committee (DISC):

Diplomacy Award: Elise Nassif
Security Council:
Diplomacy Award: Stephanie Maroun
Honorable Mention and Position Paper award: Ralph Sakr
United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO):
Honorable Mention: Lilian Hawila
Diplomacy Award: Elsie Nakhle
Social, Humanitarian, and Cultural Committee (SOCHUM):
Honorable Mention: Tia Wakim
For holding the highest number of awards amongst various local and international universities, the NDU was also awarded the Best Delegation Award.
