KAMAL YOUSSEF EL-HAGE AWARDS CEREMONY

The awards for high school students, who participated in the writing competition, in April 2016, were distributed in a ceremony organized by ILT at Issam Fares Hall with the presence of school administrators, faculty members and participating students. The topic of the competition was “Philosophy and Us” based on two selected texts from Kamal Youssef El-Hage the Lebanese Philosopher. More than sixty students participated in the competition coming from fourteen public and private high schools located in different part of Lebanon. The three prizes were: The Medill of the Creative Pen, as the first prize: (4.5 million L.L.); The Medill of the Excellent Pen, as the second prize: (3 million L.L.), and The Medill of the Shining Pen, as the third prize (1.5 million L.L.).

The topic of the second round of the Kamal Youssef El-Hage Awards was announced, namely: “Between Philosophy and Literature” that will take place in April 2017. This topic is also extracted from the philosophic texts of K. Y. El-Hage. It was reminded that the university students’ award is due by the end of June 2017. The chosen topic is: The Philosophy of Language in the Works of Kamal Youssef El-Hage. These competitions and awards are organizes, and subsidized by the institute of Beit Al-Fikr. They are simultaneously administered and supervised by ILT.
