This Symposium was organized by ILT in collaboration with the Anis Makdisi Program at AUB, and the support of the Benedict XVI Chair for Religious, Cultural and Philosophic Studies at NDU. This Symposium carried the title of The Philosophy of Charles Malik, and sessions took place at NDU, for the first day, and at AUB, for the second day.

Speakers came from Canada and the USA other than those who participated from Lebanon. This event took place in celebration of the publishing of the book entitled: The Systems of Whitehead Metaphysics. This is the earliest philosophic manuscript written by Charles Malik. It goes back to the mic thirties of the twentieth century. The topics of the Symposium included: Malik the Philosopher, Malic the Philosophic Critic, The Influence of Charles Malic on his Students, and the Charles Malik Archives at ILT. It was discussed with the overseas speakers the different ways how to cooperate and develop the publishing of Charles Malik works outside Lebanon, specifically in the USA and Canada. It was announced in the Symposium the future plan related to the Charles Malic project at ILT. This event included a documentary on C. H. Malik prepared by Mr. Tony Nasrallah.
