Program Overview
This photography workshop in Lebanon is designed to help participants strengthen their understanding of photography, refine their creative vision, and achieve better photographic results. Through a combination of technical training, hands-on exercises, and editing sessions, students will learn how to capture the world through their own lens.
The workshop provides an excellent opportunity to study photography in Lebanon, whether you’re a beginner or looking to enhance your existing skills. By the end of the program, participants will have developed a deeper appreciation for the art of photography and how to express their creativity through powerful visual storytelling.

Session 1: Technical Foundations of Photography
- Understanding Exposure: Aperture, ISO, Shutter Speed, and their relationships
- Camera vs. Smartphone: How these settings apply to different devices
- Depth of Field: How to control focus creatively
- Lens Focal Length and Perspective: How different lenses affect composition |

- Elements of Design: Line, shape, texture, color, balance, contrast
- Rules of Composition: Rule of Thirds, Leading Lines, Negative Space, Framing

Session 3: Take-Home Photography Project
- Students will be assigned a small photography project to complete overnight, applying the concepts of exposure and composition learned during the day. |

Session 1: Project Critique and Feedback
- Students present their homework photos for discussion and improvement

Adobe Lightroom (Mobile and Desktop):
- Color correction, contrast, cropping, and retouching
- Understanding histograms and tonal adjustments
Snapseed (for Phones):
- Quick edits, filters, and fine-tuning images |

- Students edit their homework project using the software
- Live demonstrations and guided editing exercises |

Session 1: Introduction to Studio Photography
- Understanding Artificial Lighting: Key light, fill light, rim light
- Introduction to Softboxes, Reflectors, and Light Modifiers
- Basic Portrait Photography Techniques

- Working with professional DSLR/Mirrorless Cameras
- Directing subjects and controlling light for different moods
- Students take turns shooting in a professional setup |

Trainer Profile
- Cliff Makhoul is a Senior Laboratory Assistant and Part-Time Faculty member at Notre Dame University-Louaize, Lebanon.
Certificate of Attendance
All participants will be awarded a Certificate of Attendance on the final day of the program, distributed by the Ramez G. Chagoury Faculty of Architecture, Arts, and Design.
