Family Violence - SOL 313
This course develops a broad overview of the social problems of family violence. Topics include physical, psychological, and sexual abuse of children, neglect, sibling abuse, dating violence, marital violence, elder abuse, sexual violence and human trafficking. Students will understand the biological, psychological, religious, and sociological theories that attempt to explain violence among intimate people, the consequences of violence, and the preventive measures and strategies for dealing with violence in the family. Prerequisite: ENL 213
