Current Issues - COA 350

This course introduces students to key local, regional, and international events and issues shaping the contemporary world. Emphasis is placed on the role and responsibilities of global citizens as students research, analyze, and evaluate media coverage of various topics. Class discussions and presentations on political, economic, and social issues form a significant part of the course. Topics may include globalization, environmental challenges, terrorism, nuclear proliferation, world hunger, drug trafficking, and the dynamics between developing and developed countries.
