Economies of the Middle East - ECN 328

The course presents the Middle-Eastern economies (MEEs) and examines selected topics of particular importance in the region. It first presents an overview of the main economic/political/social features of the MEEs and assesses their economic weight in the world economy, before identifying sub-regions according to a set of economic/geographic criteria. The course then sheds light on different topics, mainly: intra-regional economic linkages, extra-regional economic linkages, and growth/development determinants/obstacles in the MEEs.
