Commercial Law I: Commercial Acts, Traders, Goodwill - LAW 304

This course is designed to introduce to students the key concepts and theories of Commercial Law. The course explores the following topics: specificity of Commercial Law, sources of Commercial Law, commercial acts (i.e. distinction between civil acts and commercial acts, objective commercial acts, subjective commercial acts, commercial acts by their form, mixed commercial acts), traders (i.e. quality of trader, statute of trader, legal obligations of trader), goodwill (generalities, elements, legal nature, contracts concerning goodwill), sale, pledge, lease, management, and contribution (i.e. allowance) in kind.

This lecture is supported by a workshop that helps students understand the course.

Language of Instruction: Arabic (legal terms, however, are also given in English and French).
