Charles Waldheim is a distinguished North American architect and urbanist based in Cambridge, Massachusetts. His groundbreaking research delves into the intricate interplay between landscape, ecology, and contemporary urbanism. With an impressive body of work, Waldheim has authored, edited, or co-edited numerous publications exploring these themes, including "Landscape as Urbanism: A General Theory" (Princeton University Press) and "The Landscape Urbanism Reader" (Princeton Architectural Press).

Waldheim is renowned for his development of the theory of landscape urbanism, a paradigm shift in response to the challenges posed by industrial economies and evolving ecologies within American cities. At Harvard University Graduate School of Design, he holds the prestigious John E. Irving Professorship and directs the Office for Urbanization.
