Nowadays, many clinics and medical centers offer numerous courses each addressed to a group of people suffering from certain types of diseases; for example, in Lebanon, classes are offered to patients suffering from arthritis, cancer, radial carpal tunnel, etc. Tajiquan for health programs are modernized Tajiquan incorporating medical science to deliver health benefits quicker.

Taichi, short for Taichi Chuan, is an internal Chinese Martial art practiced for both its self- defense training and health benefits. Tajiquan is an Olympic sport (Taolu only). The term Taji derives from a philosophy of Yin and Yang related to the moves.
