Plant Production and Protection

This course is designed to provide, first, information about plant production and planting calendar in Lebanon, along with all advice needed to succeed a plant production ( Irrigation advice, crop and weeds interaction, pruning and grafting) then information about plant protection (Best way for pesticides application, different types of pesticides and what are the targeted pests and diseases, application time, harmful effects of pesticides, most common plant diseases in Lebanon and how to treat these diseases), and finally this course will provide advice for reaching good agricultural practices.
 

Sustainable Agriculture

This course will focus on the new concept of "Sustainability" in Agriculture, and the 7 components needed to reach this sustainability (Soil management (along with information about urban agriculture), Water management, Waste management (along with information about composting and circular economy), Biodiversity protection (along with information about Honeybees), Sustainable plant protection (Along with information about pheromones, soil solarization, Crop Rotation, Cover Cropping, Green Manure, Mulch, Integrated pest management), Sustainable use of Energy and profitability.

The Science Behind Gardening

This course is designed to provide information about the basics of plant physiology and the necessary information to start gardening – such as light and water requirements, substrate, soil composition, fertilizers composition and appropriate application methods and timing, along with information about macro and micro elements deficiency and their impacts on plant, plant propagation and common landscaping knowledge (indoor plants advice, maintenance practices, and irrigation techniques).

Modern Agriculture Techniques and Fruit Management

This course provides basic and vital knowledge about modern agricultural techniques including Hydroponic, vertical and organic farming, along with specific courses that focus on tropical and sub-tropical fruit production and management (Avocado, Mango, Annona, Citrus etc.) in addition to an overview of olive cultivation and oil extraction process, viticulture and the life cycle of wine grape (from planting to harvest).
