NDU Alumni Access to Library Resources
Notre Dame University-Louaize (NDU) Alumni are allowed and encouraged to use the University library and are subject to the same rules and regulations that apply to all library users.
Alumni may freely access and use library materials within the library during regular operating hours (between 8:00AM – 9:00PM) and during summer (8:00 AM - 2:00 PM).
Borrowing Privileges
will be extended to alumni who are registered with the Alumni Affairs Office and who have paid a one-time deposit of 150,000 L.L. Upon request, this deposit will be returned to the alumni when all checked out items have been returned, any applicable fees have been paid and borrowing privileges have been suspended.
Alumni who meet the above requirements may borrow a maximum of two items for a period of two weeks or as specified in the Library's Lending Policy.
Alumni are not allowed to check out course reserve materials from the library. These materials may be accessed and used in the library.
Library Collections
The NDU Libraries provide access to a rapidly expanding collection of reference and circulating materials in print, manuscript, electronic, audio, visual, cartographic (maps), and other appropriate formats. In addition to scholarly and research materials, the libraries' collections include popular and classic fiction in English, Arabic and French and a small but growing collection of books for children.
The Libraries welcome and encourage donations that support the University’s academic programs and the scholarly, teaching, and research interests of the NDU community. All donors will receive appropriate acknowledgement, including but not limited to a thank you letter, a printed acknowlegement on the donated item, and inclusion in a published donors list.
Searching for Materials
Library users can search WebView, the NDU Libraries online catalog, from any Internet-enabled computer, both on and off campus. Go to the NDU homepage (http://www.ndu.edu.lb), then click on Libraries, and then on Library Catalog.
High Priority Requests
Items listed in WebView (NDU Libraries online public access catalog) as In process or On Order, may be requested to be cataloged as High Priority by filling out a form at the Circulation Desk.
Electronic Resources
Alumni and guests are always welcome to search the electronic resources provided by the NDU Libraries from computer terminals provided within the library premises, for free. However, due to licensing restrictions, the NDU Libraries cannot provide alumni with off-campus access to electronic resources.
