The fourth and final Career Counseling seminar took place on May 11, 2010 and targeted successful interviewing preparation and techniques. The interviewing process does not start with the interview! Preparatory steps are needed in terms of compiling portfolio material for the interview, preparing answers to job-related questions, and conducting research on the company. During the interview, it is crucial that you portray confidence and dwell on the positives rather than be negative toward an old job or anything. When asked about the accomplishments you have achieved, make certain you describe particular situations, the actions you personally took in those situations, and the outcomes. In other words, be very specific! After the interview, take care to follow up with a Thank You letter to the interviewer within a 24-hour period.
