On Saturday, May 15, 2010, the NDU-SC family celebrated its annual Founder’s Day. The Student Union members, Club members, Faculty members, Staff, Administrators and guests from the entire Shouf community gathered together to celebrate a day of fun and festivities.
The theme for this year’s Founder’s Day was ‘colors’. Nine Clubs decorated their different stands accordingly and paraded excitedly to introduce their different themes to the audience. The clubs at NDU-SC are: The Progressive Club, the Oldies Club, the Engineering Club, the Nahar El Chabab Club, the Red Line Club, the Music Club, the Pastoral Work group, the First Aid Club and the Student Union.
The day started at 12:00 noon with a blessing by Fr. Boutros Bou Nassif who welcomed everyone and urged them to have the best time ever. Then it was time for eating and drinking and dancing to begin.
The evening program included some guest singers and performers, namely:
- Mr. George Khoury: Monologist
- Mr. Nidal Zein El Deen: Singer and Studio El Fann medal winner
- Mr. Wael Jaber (NDU-SC student): A brilliant one-man show
- Folk Dancers from two Zaffe Groups: Angham and Ahlam
- A tae kwon do show
Everyone enjoyed their time tremendously, wishing their dear university many more years of prosperity, progress and success.
