Dr. Ameen Rihani, Vice President for Academic Affairs, and Dr. Kamal Abou Chedid, Assistant Vice President for Academic Affairs, visited NDU-SC on April 13, 2010. The main purpose of the visit was to acquaint the Shouf Campus family with the latest accreditation process news and what has been accomplished so far regarding the approval of NDU-Louaize’s request to become a member of the New England Association for Schools and Colleges (N.E.A.S.C).
Dr. Rihani and Dr. Abou Chedid spent a long day on campus; they first met with the student body, from 10:30 a.m. till 12:00 noon. During that meeting, they discussed the accreditation news and took time to address NDU-SC students’ academic questions and concerns. After that, they had a quick lunch at the cafeteria, and then conducted another meeting with the faculty members, which started at 12:30 p.m. and went on till about 3:00 p.m.
The main points that were discussed in that workshop were the twenty-four eligibility requirements that the accreditation committee had asked NDU-Louaize to fulfill before the accreditation procedure could proceed. Each point was presented and discussed thoroughly. Moreover, the faculty members were told of the upcoming visit of the accreditation committee to Lebanon (to all three campuses) between June 14 and 18, 2010, whose main purpose is to substantiate the information reported in the piles of documents that have been compiled for that purpose.
