Lecture on the Role and Importance of CCE Technology in the Healthcare Sector

On Wednesday, March 24, 2010, the Faculty of Engineering at NDU-SC invited Mr. Nader Hammoud, the Head of the Biomedical Engineering Department at Rafic Hariri University Hospital (RHUH), to introduce the Computer and Communication Engineering (CCE) students to “the Role & Importance of CCE Technology in the Healthcare Sector”.

Mr. Hammoud summarized the progress that has been made in the field of medicine throughout history up until most recently when the need for computer communication engineers has become integral to any hospital. He then presented a quick review of the most recent biomedical services. Those were, in turn, linked directly to the IT and RF services that have been offered and incorporated at hospitals. Moreover, he addressed a more CCE dedicated field, the Paperless/Filmless technology in the hospitals, which was introduced through the HIS, RIS and PACS technology.

As a token of gratitude for such an informative seminar, NDU-SC awarded Mr. Hammoud an Appreciation Certificate from the Shouf Campus Administration.
