On Monday June 6th at 18:00 NDU’s North Lebanon Campus (NLC), Barsa, honored its best-achieving students from its six faculties, namely Business Administration, Humanities, Engineering, Natural and Applied Sciences, Health and Nursing, and Architecture, Art and Design, with the presence of the University authorities, the students and their families.
After the playing of the National Anthem, the chairperson of the event  Nicole Ayoub welcomed the audience and then congratulated the students being honored while at the same time urging the others to greater efforts.  On behalf of the NLC Director, the Coordinator of Engineering, Doctor Shady Makary, referred to the new programs put forward by the University in view of the latest developments in science and scholarship as well as in the labor market which the students will be entering.  He referred to the updating of teaching methods and appropriate technological equipment as well as to the sporting, cultural and social activity that create a suitable healthy atmosphere from which the students profit as well as gaining knowledge.  Doctor Makary added that the University not only assures success to sixty percent of the student but also helps them by providing them with transport.
Doctor Makari praised the families for the support they gave to their children and appealed to the students to strive and uphold the University’s good reputation wherever they went.  Certificates were then distributed to the top achieving students of the successive years in all six faculties   Students Joseph Saleh and Cecil Shahadeh then provided some instrumental and vocal musical entertainment before the event closed with refreshments.

كرمت جامعة سيّدة اللويزة NDU برسا طلابها المتفوقين في كليّاتها الستة: ادارة الأعمال، الانسانيات، الهندسة، العلوم الطبيعية والتطبيقية، كليّة الصحة، الهندسة المعمارية والفنون الجميلة وذلك بحضور منسّقي الأقسام والطلاب وأهاليهم. بعد النشيد الوطني، رحّبت عرّيفة الحفل نيكول أيوب بالحاضرين، وهنّأت المتفوقين بنجاحهم وحثت باقي الطلاب على المزيد من العطاء.
كلمة مدير الجامعة ألقاها منسّق كليّة الهندسة الدكتور شادي مكاري منوهاً بالبرامج الجديدة التي أطلقتها الجامعة لمواكبة التطورات العلمية وأسواق العمل للطلاب مشيراً الى تحديث وسائل التعليم والأجهزة التكنولوجية التي تؤمن وتسهل طرق التعلم الحديثة والمتطورة، كما لاحظ النشاطات الرياضية والترفيهية والتثقيفية والاجتماعية التي تساهم في خلق مناخ صحيّ وملائم للطالب اضافة الى اكتسابه العلم والمعرفة. وأوضح أن الجامعة تقدم منح تعليمية لأكثر من 60 بالمئة من طلابها مؤكداً أن تأمين وسائل المواصلات BUSES المتبعة في الجامعة يسهّل على الطالب التنقل.
وحيّا مكاري لدور الأهل في دعم أبنائهم ليتمكنوا من تحقيق النجاحات والابداع. ودعا الطلاب الى السعي للأفضل والى أن يحملوا اسم جامعتهم عندما يتخرجون ويدخلون معترك الحياة.
ثمّ وزعت شهادات التقدير على المتفوقين في مختلف سنوات التعليم والكليات الستة. وقد تخلل الحفل مقطوعات غنائية وعزف على البيانو قدمهما الطالبان جوزيف صالح وسيسيل شحاده. وفي الختام أُقيم حفل كوكتيل للمناسبة.
