The Department of Architecture in the Ramez G. Chagoury Faculty of Architecture, Arts and Design (RC-FAAD) at Notre Dame University-Louaize (NDU) accredited by the New England Commission for Higher Education (NECHE) gladly hosted on October 10, 2018, the Arab Architects Awards (AAA) committee as part of the roadshow across universities in order to introduce and provide instructors and students with the necessary tools to be part of this international event.
The AAA will be held in Beirut on October 25-26-27, 2018; and will feature a presentation of 35 projects, distributed over 9 different categories, before a jury of Arab and International architects and academics. The Department of Architecture at NDU will be participating in the students’ exhibitions, panels’ discussion, moderation and engaging in activities that will take place throughout the 3 days.
The event was thoroughly introduced by Dr. Habib Sadek and Atef Mcheimech who represented the AAA committee. Furthermore, Dr. Maroun Kassab gave a glimpse into the work of one of Lebanon's foremost architects, ‘Assem Salam’ who will be particularly honored during the AAA event. This event will provide a platform for the exchange of ideas, and for the recognition of one major architectural figure in the Arab world.
