For the 10th consecutive year, NDUIFF’s delegation participated in the 70th Cannes International Film Festival from May 17 till May 28, 2017. A delegation of 5 winning directors from the 10th NDUIFF and a group of outstanding film graduates from NDU visited the festival and got the chance to explore the cinema of the world.
The winning directors had the opportunity to demonstrate their films in Cannes’ short film corner:
- Rawad Sabbagh, “All About a Moment”
- Ornella Maalouf, “Gaby”
- Sinan Mattar, “Vigilance Dream”
- Lynn Dagher, “The Art of Silence”
- Doris Saba, “Saudade”
Two awards were distributed to NDU students:
- Bank of Beirut public vote award Elie Salameh “Vole Mon Amour”
- Belonging Tripoli of land people and culture award by the ministry of tourism to Yehia Mrad
The Notre Dame University-Louaize (NDU) International Film Festival (NDUIFF) organized by the Division of Audio Visual Arts (DAVA), a short film festival founded in 2007 at NDU, Lebanon, is celebrated annually under its constant theme, “The Power of Youth.”
As the theme reflects, the NDUIFF mission is to promote young filmmakers by screening their films in the presence of a large audience, and promote their talents and artistic excellence.
