NDU STUDENTS TAKE 2ND PLACE IN NUTRITION POSTER COMPETITION

NDU STUDENTS TAKE 2ND PLACE IN NUTRITION POSTER COMPETITION

November 30, 2018 – A group of students from Notre Dame University-Louaize (NDU) won second place in the 2nd Inter-Universities Impact Poster Competition organized by Haigazian University. The competition was organized by the program coordinator of Nutrition and Dietetics Sciences at the University of Haigazian, Dr. Sima Hamadeh, and Stephanie Andraos, Ph.D. student at The University of Auckland, with this year’s theme being “Nutrition trends 2018: Nutrition trends SHOULD NOT be so “trendy”!”

 

Teams of nutrition and marketing students from 8 Universities in Lebanon (AUST, BAU, HU, LAU, LIU, NDU, UL, USJ) participated presenting 12 different posters on the following nutrition myths: Probiotics, Detox diets, Food Additives “Rhodamin B”, Gluten free products and diets, Light products, Food intolerance tests, Low fat diet, Traditional food, Eating disorders, and Sarcopenic obesity.

 

Posters were evaluated by a jury comprised of experts in the field of Nutrition, Marketing and Communications, and representatives of various ministries. The full list of judges includes:

Joya Farhat, Head of Dietetics Clinic at Trad Hopsital

 

Hearty congratulations to the NDU Team: Maria Aoun, Jennifer Chalhoub, Faten Ayoub and Vanessa Evelyne Salem who took second place with their poster titled “Gluten free product serving people who are not gluten sensitive.”
