Notre Dame University-Louaize (NDU) celebrated on May 12, 2017, its 30th annual Founders’ Day, which is a celebration reserved for remembering its founders and honoring its supporters. A vintage-themed event titled, “From A Legendary Past To A Rising Future,” applauded NDU’s 30-year long journey.
Vice-President for Finance at NDU Fr. Bechara Khoury kicked off the ceremony in the open area in the presence of NDU VPs, AVPs, deans, directors, faculty, staff, and students.
TV host, comedian, and actor Hicham Haddad was the guest of honor. Haddad expressed his joy at being part of this momentous celebration and praised the world-class education mission of NDU.
Students from various backgrounds, excelling in academics, leadership, and community service, such as the “HoReCa” winners and the “Facebook Global Digital Challenge” winners, were honored during the event. Byblos Bank also awarded the ‘Achievement of the Year Awards’ to several clubs at NDU, such as the Pastoral Work Group, the NDU MUN, the Consulting Club and the NDU Engineering Societies.
As promised for this year, NDU students were the stars of the show! Students brought the event to life with a variety of unique and captivating performances. Singers, dancers, musicians, and comedians performed on stage in the presence of the auditions jury members, TV presenter and Branding Consultant Bruna Tohme and singer and filmmaker Ingrid Bawwab. Both Bruna and Ingrid received special guest awards for their contribution.
Throughout the night, electrifying live music bands, singers, musicians, and sports figure awardees took the stage. Stars included Amir Saoud; Silvio Chiha; Dancing with the Stars winner Raed Mourad; Iyam el-Lira; violinist André Soueid; and Virgin Radio Lebanon’s Anthony and Frankie!
The celebration marked a milestone in NDU’s history and the launch of a new and exciting chapter for the University.
