December 14, 2018 – The Faculty of Engineering (FE) at Notre Dame University-Louaize (NDU) signed new memorandum of understanding (MOU) agreement with BMW. Signing this MOU marks an important step in providing NDU students future career prospects and formalizes a longstanding collaboration with BMW, wherein they will provide internships to NDU’s engineering students.
Speaking on behalf of President Fr. Pierre Najem, Dr. Michel El Hayek, dean of the FE, talked about the partnership between NDU and BMW. “We have been working on this agreement for some time,” said Dr. El Hayek. He went on to talk about how many NDU students have already participated in internships with BMW and shown themselves to be up to the task.
Markus Bauer, Head of Planning, Processes and Systems, then spoke expressing his excitement at formalizing an agreement with NDU which has already seen several students acquire internships with the company. He then went on to describe the kinds of employment successful interns go on to have at BMW, either entering into the workforce directly, or collaborating with BWM to complete PhDs. Bauer praised the students’ efforts saying it has been “a privilege to meet so many students, they are doing great work in their fields.”
Vice President for Administration at NDU, Fr. Samir Ghsoub and Bauer then signed the MOU, thereby formalizing in writing the relationship between BMW and NDU.
