INDEPENDENCE DAY CELEBRATION AT SC

In celebration of their flag and in reaffirmation of their allegiance to their Lebanese identity, Notre Dame University-Louaize Shouf Campus (NDU-SC) organized on Tuesday, November 21, 2017, a small gathering to celebrate Independence Day in the Student Lounge in the presence of the administrators, faculty members, staff, and students.

SC Director Fr. Naji Khalil congratulated the Lebanese people on their independence and mentioned in a short speech that despite the difficulties and tribulations Lebanon is currently facing only the flag can unite the country.

The celebration proceeded with the screening of a short documentary, which highlighted Lebanon’s key historical timeline leading to independence on November 22, 1943.

A cake featuring the NDU logo and Lebanese flag was cut in honor of the occasion, and cedar trees bearing the names of SC members were distrusted by the Student Union as precious gifts symbolizing pride and unity.
