Notre Dame University-Louaize North Lebanon Campus (NDU-NLC), celebrated Lebanon Independence Day, and the Lebanese Art Day under the title "Wadih and the Army" on November 14, 2018, in the presence of General Doctor Elias Francis, General Joseph Yaaccoub, Colonel Najib El Nabout, Commander of the Army Music Band Fadi Kahileh, as well as faculty members staff, and students.
Public Relations Office and Faculty of Business Administration and Economics (FBAE) at NLC assistant Elsy Kfoury-Girgis welcomed the audience and the Lebanese army in particular and expounded on the military’s virtues, which include honor, sacrifice, and loyalty.
NLC Director Fr. Francois Akl delivered a speech, stressing the importance of Lebanese Flag Day. He briefly reviewed how the great state of Lebanon, which was then the Maronite Patriarch, was established as the commissioner of all the Lebanese to favor an independent Lebanon in 1943. Fr. Akl stressed that whoever considers himself greater than Lebanon is so socially negligible. Great Lebanon remains, we’re proud of its knowledge, sword, pen, ease, mountain, sea, justice, its name, pride, glory, cedar, symbol, and army.
General Dr. Elia Francis delivered a speech saying that homeland is the place we love and believe in. The great creative artist, Wadih al-Safi, has always been proud of Lebanon and his dedicated army, The Lebanese Army which holds in its deep meanings the values of honor, sacrifice, and loyalty.
The Lebanese army band, led by Commander Fadi Kahileh, launched the event by playing the national anthem and national songs.
Trophies and presents were distributed to the troops by the director of NDU - NLC and Commander Kahileh also received a special NDU trophy from the Student Union to the Lebanese Army.
